I'd like you to meet my grandfather, John W. Downs. To his right is his wife, Helen (Hopkins) Downs. John was one of the six sons of Thomas Downs and his wife Anna. Thomas and Anna immigrated here in the late 19th century from the British Isles, bringing the last name of Downs to the Eastham/Orleans area of Cape Cod.
At the moment I can't extend my Downs ancestry beyond the immigration of Thomas and Anna, but I hope I can some day. For now, my genealogy section will include Thomas and his six sons, their wives, and any ancestry I may have for them. The only exception is the genealogy of my grandmother, Helen, John's wife. Her ancestry will be dealt with as a separate topic. You will find it in the Hopkins Family section of this site.
